Try this tutorial at trickstutorials.com: http://www.trickstutorials.com/index.php...

It took me a while to get it. I think one of the most important things is getting enough momentum to swing around hard/fast. Assuming you have an excellent tornado kick, all you need is to generate enough torque for the kick to travel through, so you can land on the same leg.

Look up some tutorials/videos on youtube. You will see that some people twist in the opposite direction first, then spin in the direction of the kick. I think this method is best for people who have been doing the kick for a while, but you should try whatever works for you.

Another way to do it is to do a roundhouse kick very fast in the direction of your 540, carrying that momentum to swing around and do the 540.

Hope this helps.

Why would you want to is my question ?
I don't know what martial art you're in or what you're doing it for, but I'm in karate and we do it for the kata/form Unsu. I can do it, but not every time. The way you do it is to kick and keep that foot in front, the other just kinda goes straight up towards your body, then straightwards as you're going to land. It's hard to explain.

its not hard at all.. just twist your body to help generate torque right before you jump... can you do 360's? tilt your body more upwards like you are trying to kick the sky almost. and then its easier to land on the kicking leg...

plenty of vids on youtube.
